This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

The Twilight Saga. Greatest set of books ever written.

I am so clever, but in all seriousness Wizard & Glass by the current God of the wirting world, Stephen King. Although as I read Naked Lunch by William S. Burrough it rapidly gets replaced.

The Sevenwaters Trilogy - by Juliet Marilliar.
Europa Suite series - Kim Wilkins

Now here's a couple of authors who knows how to meld fantasy, supernatural and romance together without making the female characters whinny and pathetic. Eat your heart out S. Meyer!

I liked "Duma Key" by Stephen King, it was long, but well worth it, though it's probably not a good book for people who cry when a character they like dies.

I actually read "A Clockwerk Orange", the full 21 chapter version, and it didn't really have as profound an impact on me as I expected, it was interesting and all, but it wasn't really something I'd recommend.

(And to people who say their favorite books are by Stephenie Meyer, I suggest you pick a better author.)

A Clockwork Orange wasn't half bad, although I liked the movie better (oddly enough).

Speaking of Stephanie Meyer (and thus vampires by extrapolation), I actually liked some of Anne Rice's books. She had some pretty neat characterization.

Well, I like the Harry Potter series, but my favorite book is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I really liked the message in it.

I read it a few years back, it was a really short read - I finished it the day I got the book - but I really enjoyed it, I may have to re-read it soon.

Most of my favorite books happen to be of the fantasy genre, and probably my favorite author of all is Brandon Sanderson, his books are great if you are looking for an atypical fantasy with interesting characters and some awesome original magic systems.

Recently I just finished The Stand by Stephen King, though; which was pretty great. I'm not ashamed to admit I teared up at several points, most memorably near the end [ during the Christmas scene while Stu and Tom are traveling back to Boulder and Stu gives Tom the infinity symbol to wear around his neck and asks that Tom remembers him whenever he looks at it. ] Good times.
