This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Default Shows you've watched out of boredom

Name a show you've sat and watched because there was nothing else on, nothing to do, and/or you had nowhere to go.

Was it a show you hated, one you'd normally never give a chance, etc?

Scrubs

Generally, I'd do a list here, but I think that this show would do. Normally I hate Dramodies. While I like my Drama to have a comedic charm, I think Dramodies are too surrealistic to be dramatic, so it kind of fails in half of it's criterion off the bat, that sad I never considered watching the show... until a couple years ago.

I was sitting bored at home, it had just snowed, and as I work in the construction industry I had to stay home with out pay. The beginning of the day was mostly children programming, but it seems by mid-noon, Scrubs had led the great coups of 2008 and commondeered every channel for three time blocks in the middle of the day. Needless to say I found myself watching Scrubs.

I was fortunate enough to catch the pilot, and I was floored. While it had genuinely funny parts, it never forgot it's dramatic appeal. One particular scene that comes to mind is when J.D. has to declare a man dead in the first episode. This leads the character and the viewer realizing exactly hour serious being a doctor is. And luckily this show really kept with those moments.

The first season was honestly the best, but as time went on the Drama dropped off for favor the Zany nature of the characters (and the homosexual give and takes thereof). This is where the show took a suicide drop, and really stopped being all that good. While it still had it's funny charm, and funny characters. While I still watched it until the end, sadly by then most of the lessons seemed contrived, and even silly at times. It had stopped taking itself with any sort of seriousness and just became a mess of pop culture references (the dreaded MacFarlane Zone).

This show was one that I would have never given a chance. But if you haven't watched it, I'd recommend the first season most definitely. You'll be surprised how often this show really does give very serious moments, mixed in with this surreal atmosphere to make something good. Plus watching the guy who got his balls ripped off in highlander II get vindication from the most pansy man who has ever lived has a satisfying ring all on it's own.
