The main character in "Green Eggs and Ham" doesn't like green eggs and ham, even though the only difference is the color, a fact he reiterates constantly to Sam-I-Am, until finally, under great pressure, he gives in and eats them, and finds that he likes them. Everyone is happy! The Bible, meanwhile, has a God that changes the rules based on whoever's telling the story at the time or, most unforgivably, whoever wins the battle. |

Damn you and your knowledge of story structure and Green Eggs and Ham. You win.... for the moment.
I still like the Bible, though. It's a cute little book. Jesus was a very likable protagonist. |

That's the New Testament, and even that his its own share of issues (unreliable narratives for the Gospels, and Jesus becoming a Mary Sue in John and future chapters). :D

Hmmm...well, I guess I would say the Harry Potter series are my favorite books because that was basically my childhood. I loved them 'til the end (I cried like a baby during the epilogue of DH). Hell, I still do...
I guess other than HP, another one of my favorite books would be 1984 by George Orwell. I really enjoyed Animal Farm as well. I'm reading the Sherlock Holmes series right now and I LOVE THEM. He's such a BAMF. |

Now that I think about it, the New Testament sucks. The Old Testament is where it's at. Noah's Ark FTW

Old Testament isn't even coherent. Stopping the sun? Wouldn't the Earth fly away? And God's just a petty vindictive little dipshit of a character. He makes Job's life suck for the lulz and kills David's kid out of spite.

Didn't Moses do that a lot, though?

The Road is incredible. I loved it. Also, As Simple As Snow. The most interesting book I've ever read, and I still haven't quite figured it out.
I recommend both to everyone! :D |

I really enjoyed "Everything is Illuminated" & "Angels & Demons". Personally both books were better than the movies.

1984...simply because of its darkness, its political commentary, its writing style and [ its torture scene, which was the first torture scene I ever READ, and boy was it disgusting ]
But do graphic novels/comics count? They're books too...if they are allowed, my favourite graphic novel/comic is Watchmen. |

The Princess Bride! I'm liking that at the moment. I love the whole fell-in-love-in-two-hours kind of thing at the beginning.
