Actually, no...

Apparently what's going on is that they're airing season 1 episodes in chronological order, slipping in season 2 episodes in the appropriate chronological placing along the way. That being the case, the next new episode should be in about a month.

The first season 2 episode is titled Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, and places 8th chronologically, after Melancholy 1-6 and Boredom.

8 endless nights almost killed the series for me...I watched the first 2 attempted to watch the same crap over again...then....skipped to the 8th.

I actually just finished watching the first season of Haruhi yesterday.
I'll be watching the second as soon as my bandwidth is renewed...

Also, just because it was brought up and I can't help myself: Higurashi is facking amazing.
