I'm a little ashamed to say it, but I love the shojo series Diamond Dust Drops. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the pacing of the stories and the timing of it all, especially in the last thirty seconds of each episode, and the characters are really well made. Then there's Petite Princess Yucie, Love Get Chu!... am I the only guy out there that watches this stuff? (and actually likes it?)

Yuo're FAR from the only one, 90% of anime watching men watch these believe it ot not, 70% won't admit it.

I watch everything and love everything (genre wise) and shoujo is no different.

I watched the first episode of Peach Girl... it was actually kinda cool, I though.

Is "Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora" shojo? I know it's a romance story but I'm not sure if that makes it shojo. Anyway, those are the only "girly" anime I've ever seen, although I know a fair few people who consider Haibane Renmei to be pretty girly and I loved that series.

Haibane is just F*CKING sad, not girly. IT's depressing and AMAZING, it's not shoujo.

Paradise Kiss, Fruits Basket, Peach Girl, NANA, etc..all shoujo, decent ones too.

Um...there's this manga that was out called " I's " that one could consider girly...problem is, it was a Shonen Jump Advanced manga, plus it centered around the boy...so I'm not sure if that counts.

I've read a lot of CLAMPS girly manga...Cardcaptor Sakura and Chobits...and I watched the DiC dub of Sailor Moon when I was 8 or so...

I's is definately shoujo, it may have been in Shonen Jump, but so was Ichigo 100% and those are both shoujo also. Both pretty good (I'm talking anime here)

and CLAMP rulz the school of anime, Chobits, CCS, Angelic Layer, xxxHOLIC (not shoujo), Tsubasa Chronicles, X (not shoujo), Tokyo Babylon (not shoujo), so much greatness from them.

NewtypeSEED

But the thing is, it mainly focused on the boy (Seto) and even his perverted friend did little editing stuff with the girl's pictures (Iori).

And it shows him attempting intercourse at times! o.o But then ultimately failing.

X isn't really finished yet...canonically anyway, the movie and series don't count.

I'm only talking about the anime versions of any of these. So X does count!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

That's true, but it can be forused on a boy and be shoujo.

Hmm...interesting...I'll take your word for it.

Paradise Kiss...the only thing that irks me about that show is the sex scene...whenever anime has a sex scene, they make strange sounds, and I feel less secure o.o

iwatch2muchanime

Well if it's a serious love scene, with love as an actual backing point, the eroticism seems to actually sky rocket, so the noises are almost natural, that and she lost her virginity to George.

NewtypeSEED

Yeah...it's the fact that it's acted that makes me less secure. o.o

Acted? No no, they get the VA's for both to have sex with the head sets on in the exact way they do it in ParaKiss, that all thereis to it.

Love Hina has too much fan service to be a girls one, right?

Shouldn't Jinki:EXTEND count? I mean, it's a mecha anime, but the cast is almost entirely female... meh, I dunno.

Does Full Moon Wo Sagashite count?

iwatch2muchanime

Wo wow o shoujo doesn't always mean focus on girls people. Sometimes a good love story may make it play out to be shoujo. It's just shows Aimed at a female audience CLAMP has some of the most famous shows that fall under this, Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, and Angelic Layer

Azumanga is NOT shoujo
Sailor Moon IS shoujo
Love Hina is NOT shoujo
Junki EXTEND is NOT shoujo (I love Jinki btw)
Full Moon IS shoujo.

...I'm a bit of a fan of Ouran High School Host Club (I converted all 26 episodes into iPod format, heh), and enjoy Diamond Dust Drops, Princess Tutu, Petite Princess Yucie, and Fruits Basket... I usually make fun of my sister for her addiction to her shoujo books (I mean, she has almost 70 freakin' books), but I really shouldn't talk, as some of my favorite series are most definently shoujo titles...
EDIT: Going over my thoughts again, I should've included Angelic Layer and Chobits as well. This isn't a good sign for me...

Does Wallflower/Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (I think that would be the Japanese title, it's what the fansubs I have are titled at least) count? I'm trying to remember what the term for the, well not opposite but almost of shoujo is i.e Love Hina, Kenichi (to and extent), Seto no Hayamone etc.

iwatch2muchanime

Yamato Nadeshiko is shoujo, although I don't like it at all.
opposite harem, I don't know the actual name but that's what I say.

What about Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni? =P

iwatch2muchanime

HAHA, Absolutely NOT on Higurashi. That's on the complete opposite end of shoujo right there.

I like the actual story but the animation and character design irks me a lot.
I'd usually say bishoujo as the opposite of shoujo but I get the feeling that's not quite the correct term since I usually associate that with stuff like H games.

I am a rather devout fan of Paradise Kiss because the relationship felt a bit more real than most of what the grenre offers, what with the more tragic feel to it.

I always loved Chobits and Sailor Moon. Never got into Cardcaptors... Recently, I absolutely fell in love with Negima. That's a wonderful anime
