The release date to Avatar Season three has not been released, but a DVD of, I think five episodes, of season three has been scheduled to come October 30th. Avatar Season three will most likely come out September 11, or at least before October 30th. This should help. There has been no plan for a live action movie, but the director of The Sixth Sense has bought the rights to make two live action movies....

Wait... A live action movie? Okay... that sounds like a bad idea. But hey, if they do I'll probably go and see it, since it's Avatar, but I'll be going in with low expectations (just like I am with the upcoming Simpsons movie).

But all that aside. I'm a big fan of Avatar. I'll admit I wasn't a fan right away, because I never really saw any full episodes. But after seeing the first two episodes one weekend I became completly hooked... it'll do that to ya. Like everyone else, the wait for series three is killing me! So much so that I've actually come up with a theory of what might happen... I won't go into that now though. But anyway, Avatar's a product of sheer brilliance, and Zuko pwns all! XD

I started watching Avatar more when I saw Season 2. It's a great show with likable characters though I still have to try and work out who my overall favourite is.

Last year, in the same period of time that we're in now, Avatar was being broadcasted on our Nick, but the bad part about it was and still is, it's dubbed into Dutch, It's a great dub, but all the jokes and the humor is way better and funnier in the English version, I've watched every episode, and me and a great friend of mine always like to quote YGO : TAS and Avatar lines.

My favourite character in Avatar has to be Toph, don't know why, but I like a girl that's not easily pushed over ;)
Sokka is the comic relieve / strategie character in the show, and I like his natural curiosity and sarcasm :)

September 21st is a confirmed airdate for season three, but I don't know if its world-wide. Hopefully it is. I'm really looking foreword to the third season. Avatar is pretty much the only thing I want to watch on Nick at the moment. As for the live-action movie thing, I don't know how well that could work out for something like Avatar. Most of the movies that I've seen that are cartoons becoming live action movies usually don't turn out so well. Some cartoons are better off being animated, especially since it would be pretty weird seeing a person doing all of those bending moves. I would much rather prefer an animated film or a CGI film for Avatar.

Zuko is one of my faverites. He's such a complex character. Can't he just be good. If even Uncle Iroh couldn't convince him, the only chance of Zuko turning to the side of light is his mother.

Anag still looks pretty weird with hair, but it looks much better than it did on the DVD cover. Zuko looks awsome and he's back in the Fire Nation outfit. I wonder who the guy in the background is. I have two ideas on who the guy in the background could possibly be:
1. It could be Fire Lord Ozai, Zuko and Azula's father.
2. It could be a guy who's going to teach Aang firebending.
But these are just my theories.

You have to admire Toph. She's awesome. I like her ability to know what's going on by feeling the earth's movements. It's a wonderful gift that enables her to be more independent. Sokka is too sarcastic for words xD! Katara definitely has a crush on Aang, but at the same time I have to admire her desire to fight and learn waterbending. Azula and I share similar opinions about our brothers, and that's probably why I like her. Her fighting skills are also interesting. Aang is funny, but pretty childish. He has a sad past. Anyway, one of my favorite characters would have to be Iroh. He's hilarious, but at the same time provides wisdom for his nephew, although he never listens. My favorite quotes would have to be from Sokka or Iroh.

KHF, I agree more with your 2nd theory. That doesn't look too much like Azula and Zuko's father. I'm probably not in the position to say anything considering I haven't seen the show in awhile, but still...

To me, Avatar is the only show worth watching now days. Whatever happened to tall he awesome shows like Captain Planet, Pinky and the Brain, Ren and Stempy, Danny Phantom, Tenchi Muyo, ect...? They used to rock! Now we have the ultra crap, cencored stuff like My Gym Partner's a Monkey, and Pet Alien!

Have you guys noticed that Avatar seems to be the only cartoon/anime that has mentioned the word's "dead", "killed", "death", and "died"? Most of the other shows use wors like "destroyed" and/or "in a coma". I hate cencorship...

Supposing that Fire is the last season, and they finish off the story arc within it, I hope the creators know to leave well enough alone. Its possible that there are other good stories to tell, but it seems to be that the longer a show drags on the worse it gets. I don't want that for Avatar.

I can't confirm it, but I've heard somewhere that Nick renewed Avatar to a sixth season- you notice in all these press releases, they've always said that the "story arc" would finish with the third season, not "series". Again, don't hold me to it, I've just heard it

I find it doubtful that they'd have gone that far in advance...given how far behind they were even just making the third season (hint: new epsodes of season two had started in, y'know, July). I realize that they could make more storylines. I'm jsut of the opinion that it might be better if they didn't. If they've tied the story into a nice little package, then let it lie.

I think they've gone as far into depth on that as they will; we've confirmed that the Airbenders are all extinct, after all. Save for Aang. And after that very depressing and powerful scene in The Southern Air Temple (103?) it seems unlikely that they'd squeeze a story out of them NOT being gone after all.

Well, when they did announce a film trilogy for Avatar, I also thought "Hey, maybe if there is only three movies, then there's only three arcs. (Water, Earth, Fire Books)" But then again, Paramount never did say exactly that the real creators would be in a major part of the live-action movies but who knows. I think that the third season might be the last and well, perhaps a spin-off of the show in the future? XD Probably not but can't imagine that they would just make three seasons and end it for good.

As for the whole Air benders gone extinct thing, they should probably just leave it at that and let the audience create their own conclusion whether or not they still are alive somewhere. I mean, personally it would make the show more interesting and deep.

I always imagined there'd be four seasons as well. The first three would deal with learning the three elements he didn't know, and the final one would be the Big Confrontation with the Fire Lord.

Or alternatively, the bossfight would be at the end of season three, and season four (Air) would be about getting the Air tribe going again (whether by finding some lost members, teaching people from other tribes, or having children -- though the last seems a bit unlikely). After all, without a tribe of Airbenders somewhere then the Avatar Cycle can't continue...

Well, with Avatar you never know what twists the plot's going to take. I'm still convinced that Zuko's going to be the one to teach Aang Firebending (hey, I could be wrong).

Well, the beginning of the season is usually rather episodic. There must be time to build up those longer lasting story arcs. I must say that the Zuko/Mei thing makes me....twitch. It came almost out of nowhere; we knew Mei had a crush on Zuko, but Zuko's rection seems almost like 'eh, I don't have anything better to do'. Blah.

There was a comic that explains more of what happens before the first episode of season three. It explains much more about how the gang got that Fire Nation ship, why and how the Earth King left, and definately more about how Zuko and Mei end up together. I personally haven't seen it yet, but I'm just passing along what information I've heard. Their scene together in this week's episode seems to me that he has more feelings for Mei than just being bored. I was pretty much sold when he said, "I don't hate you too." And then they kissed. I'm kind of a sucker for that kind of stuff too.

Season 3 is awesome so far (with the exception of "The Painted Lady", which was just weird). Next episode looks to be quite good as well, though we'll have to see about the beach part, I always assumed it was just fanservice. Wonder what they'll have in store for the rest of the season. I know that some episodes will have to go into the invasion, and a Toph-centered episode ("The Runaway" according to Avatar Spirit, I believe). Maybe an episode will be dedicated to defeating the new enemy guy as well. No matter what happens, Avatar still rocks my socks and will continue to do so until it gets canceled.

Was anyone else surprised at Lord Ozai's face? it doesn't look evil at all. I bet Ozai in the end isn't even going to be our main villians, it's going to be Azula.

Well Avatar has been known for breaking the norm in cases of American cartoons, let's see how:
1. Intelligent Comic Relief: Sokka is smart, his just has bad luck and is completely sarcastic. Honestly, when was the last time on a cartoon that there was an intellient comic refief.
2. Intelligent Villian: We all hate Azula, but god is she smart. We've all thought it if you've seen Dragonball or Sailor Moon, "If it takes them half an episode to power up, why don't they just shoot them before they finish powering up?" Azula does just that, while Aang goes into the Avatar state, she shoots him down. Smart girl. Totally evil but smart.
3. It's good, they have decent scriptwriters, it doesn't suck.

I have others, I just can't think of them right now.

I'm totally pissed that Book 3 is probably the last season. If you think of it logically, the entire world is not going to suddenly forgive the fire nation for it's 100 years of war just because the Fire lord is gone, the Avatar is still going to have work to do as the peace police. Also, we're still missing those aribender, I don't think Aang can bring the race back all by himself. Then again, if there really some secret society of airbenders underground, that' s so fanfic I could cry.

And I get Zuko needs to realize he has to switch sides eventually, but if they make it so he's basically confused and thinking throughout the ENTIRE 3rd season, and he doesn't actually do anything until the last episode, that is going to kill Avatar. Already Zuko is dropping rapidly in cool points. You all know it. All his cool points are going to Iroh, who deserves them.

Oh my god it's the 'emo circle' they're all complaining about how much they're lives have sucked. I'm kinda annoyed that it's been 5 epsodes and Zuko is no closer to a revalation than he was in episode 1. This is last season and barely anything has happened at all yet, it's kinda sad. At least the assassin finally showed up. Though I finally figured out why Mei and Zuko are a couple, they're the emo 'screw the world ' couple, it's perfect.

It's sad that Mako (the original voice for Iroh) is dead but I'm dissatified with Iroh's new voice. It was the first time he's talked this season and you can clearly tell the difference, it's just not good enough. I found the ending to Roku's story a bit sad, betrayed by his best friend. One question, why did he stay on the island? He knew he couldn't stop the volcano, all he needed to do was delay it so people could leave, there was no point to him staying.

I want a Hawkey! I wonder if it will ever comeback.

Bloodbending! Doing something we pretty much already knew should have been happening, although I thought that the old lady was the girl from Katara's story but apparently not...

OMG episode 6! Super Special Awesome Plot Twist!

Hey, when I heard Iroh new voice was going to be Mr Mushinik from Little Shop of Horror's, I shuddered too. But he did study under Mako, and it's hard to add up to him. I am not disappointed, but I did hope it would be less obvious. He certainly acts exactly like Iroh, choose your destiny Zuko, choose good I love Iroh but he should really pick a different tactic.

I don't think so. Katara was forced to use the Blood bending against another BloodBender even though she really didn't want to. It made her fall down and cry. I doubt she'ld be willing to use it again, unless she absolutaly needs to.
I thought Ep 7 had alot of funny bits in it too. When Toph pretended to get run over, Sokka kept on getting compensation, and when he was finaly happy, he did that big wink. That really made me LSMIC. I rewatched that bit about 5 times. <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley2.png'>

I dont think blood bending is evil, It depends on how you use it. In a war it can be a good way to "disable" some enemies without harming them.

They found something to match Sokka's Season 2 Cactus Juice acid trip. The Momo Appa fight, classic. I swear they were trying to parody of somehting, I just don't know what. It was like Avatar meets Samurai Champloo meets FLCL. I've never laughed at something that made no sense before but that was just insane.

Episode 8 I thought was kinda creepy, but it a VERY cool way, mostly because I'm sure in the fan network Bloodbending was already something that had been thought of, I certainly did, but I didn't expect it would be actually used, it's like you wouldn't expect them to go there. It was almost reaching out of Nickelodeon usually boundries but that's why Avatar is so cool. It was defintely great though. I'm at least happy that Toph finally got an episode, but at this rate Katara's already gotten 2. They are definetley trying to amp her up. If they do make her Bloodbend outside the full moon that will be stretching into the classic anime "This is the ultimate power, oh wait, no it's not, I can go 3 times as powerful now" cliche which is starting to get on my nerves. but then again, regardless of whether another full moon comes up or not, I wonder if they did this episode just to do somehting cool or if it's going to come up again later.

The thing is though is that the creators really like shipping and they like their fans. I don't know if it will happen but they will certainly hint it, like they do with Tokka. It's the same with a lot of series, at the end, nothing happens but man do we get enough hints to give us a clue.

I certainly HOPE that Zuko fights Azula and Ozai, because right now he's doin' a whole lot of nothing. After episode 5 it was lamost like he was budd buddy with Azula. Almost. Maybe he'll finally get off his but when the inzasion happens and fails, because you know it's going to fail because it's happening only halfway through the series.
