I don't own one myself but one of my friends does and i wasn't impressed ... to be honest i couldn't see much of a difference in the graphics or performance, just didn't seem next gen to me so i doubt i'll buy one. Besides... any game on xbox is almost always ported to PC and i prefer a keyboard and mouse for most my gaming

I got one a few weeks ago, pretty fun games. Got the red rings of death during a split second of power outage during a storm. Though I had several errrors and things going wrong, wireless not working, iPod not playing, etc. I just unplugged everything, and replugged them. Worked just fine after that.

Next gen didn't impress me as much as I thought it would once I actually got my 360, but I still play it all the time. Downstairs in the living room we have a huge wide-screen high-definition TV (literally found it for free in a house during an eviction), but I hardly get a chance to play on it. It looks beautiful on widescreen HD, though.
I've never had anything go wrong, but I'm pissed off that one of the "updates" removed the feature for mono sound output. I have two TVs in my room, neither of which supports stereo, and I knew something was wrong when I was playing one of my games and suddenly I couldn't hear the right side of the game, which hadn't happened before.

The first 360 I bought I got Red Ring of Death the second I tried to play it. I realized the second one I got was scratching my discs to the point that they were unplayable. So I took that one back. Now I'm 360less and all I really want is one that works.

meh played the Blue Dragon demo and allthough I've been bleeding my bloody eyes out for a decent turn based RPG I just can't bare playing it. It's just too kiddy. I got bored of the demo in literally 3 minutes. Theres nothing new or fun to it.
Otherwise I'm waiting on Bioshock like a hawk, looks godly, and I notice no-one's mentioned kain and Lynch: Dead men. Personally that looks prity sick to me, and Timeshift. For me I'm more on the edge of my seat for Gears of War 2 than Halo 3

Timeshift looks great, I haven't played the BD demo but that saddens me to hear that its disappointing. Bioshock and Mass Effect look great as well as Too Human and COD4. I've always been into the story of the Halo games rather than the weapons/gameplay, and the environments they've showed have looked diverse enough to get me a little excited.

Assassins Creed is something I'm waiting for because I was in love with the POP games. I'm also looking forward to Army of Two, Kain and Lynch, and GTO4. I think that should cover it.

It will be great for games though. The level in the new Killzone 2 trailer takes up a whole 2 gigs of space. There is no way you could fit the entire game on a regular DVD unless we go back to PS1 days with 3-4 discs per RPG lol.

The more I talk to people about my 360 the more i realise that I really AM the only human on earth who didnt pre-order Halo 3 when I bought my 360.

Not really a big fan on the Xbox 360. I hear to many complaints it being broken, overheating, scratching disks etc. I prefer Ps3 always in our lives more longer then a stinking xbox even though the xbox may have a little bit more better stats in the technology it holds inside the xbox 360, but i see no wonder it messes up soo easily it can't handle all the stuff inside its too much for the xbox lol and i heard their making a 80gb Ps3 soposely and dropping the price another $100 after thanksgving. Yeah, the problems with the 360 are all over the place. Microsoft said that there's a design flaw with every 360 with the way air is circulated over the the graphics card and motherboard causing the connections to melt. There (rumored) to be introducing a new, smaller graphics chip that will produce less heat this fall. I say rumored because Microsoft is saying that it's only speculation and that nothings been confirmed.

I'm planning to get one at some point, but I'm not too big on Halo, but I played Bioshock at a friend's house and that game is right up my alley, so maybe a few years down the line I will grab the Elite version (The technical problems should be sorted out by then). I'm not too big on the idea for paying for online gaming, does the Silver account allow the downloading of Xbox Live Arcade games?

Well I only view how good a game is by the game itself, I was just saying something in response to your post.

And apparently I'm one fo the few people who understand how to rate a GOOD or BAD game and that a game I like are two different things.

I like the GC Naruto games, they're terrible fighting games.
I don't like FPS in general, let alone Halo or Half-Life, those are great games. (I actually kind of like Halo)

But for most people it's solely based on what they like, which is where EVERYONE who speaks in general terms (which is most people) needs to shut it and realize that a GOOD STORY or GOOD GAMEPLAY varies from person to person from different types of games and different ways of playing it. Benjirimm here is the number person in this, he said " Nintendo = fun, Sony = graphics, Microsoft = games." which is the vaguist thing I've seen in a while and the least true. I mean Nintendo is about fun i guess but it would mean for the person in general not how the games itself plays out, but the GRAPHICS and GAMES part for Sony and Microsoft is poo, the PS3 and 360 all has games with terrible and great graphics, and games which vary from CRAP to "fun" to GOOD, and stories that vary from great to bad, all of this is solely dependant on the person playing, which is how most people rate their stuff.

I think the 360 is a great system for what its worth :) Espally with the facility to download new small games for live arcade :-D

Blue dragon ( The demo was lame as it put you in a dull part of the game without having to work for any abilitys. The game itself is quite amzing for battle system and characters, but the demo could of shown it off better...)

I don't think about plot or character development as important aspects of games at all. It's the fact it's free roaming and generally feels like you're playing a zelda game.

In the Free roaming aspect you have a point, but im the type of person who will leval grind for the fun of it :) so the Fable system really worked for me :)

I supose though it really depends what you play a game for though, as long as you enjoy what you plan and how you play thats all that matters right? :-D

I'm just p'd off at how much Halo 3 sucks the big one. "Forget Game of The Year, THis is game of the decade" - What decade are they talking about as this was nowhere near the game it should have been, the graphics are not good for the industry standard, the gameplay is really recycled and the online multiplayer is quite frankly dirt. I really cannot stnad overrated games it just gets on my nerves, although I cannot stand GTA games I know for a fact that GTAIV is gonna be the best game going.

People who are saying that about Halo 3 are people who like Halo 1 and 2 so the recycled gameplay is something they enjoy. I don't...

As for GTA4... it's a pretty bad game... dunno about the PS3 one but the 360 one has sooooo many bugs in it it's unbelievable. Small things such as body parts and weapons going through walls isn't so bad but it happens more than usual. Big things like excessive loading times, walls and random objects appearing in front of you in the middle of a road when you are less than a second away from them and today I was playing it and when I got off an elevator for a mission and when I walked out I was in purgatory for like 10 seconds <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley5.png'> Just walked into a blank white space then everything finally rendered and I was shot dead...

I know what you mean, I have always hated the GTA series, never found it that appealing but even though I hate it so much I would have to be a moron to say that it is a bad game as that isn't the case, it is actually a decent attempt, with the addition of online play it opens up to a larger audience.

As for glitches and things like that it is to be expected with such a huge game so it isn't really a problem, [I would have to play it myself to get a feel for it] As for loading times, in this day in age games with long loading times are unacceptable in my book.

The Xbox 360 is my favorite system so far because of its superior line up of exclusive games. Seriously, I wouldnt be able to live on without Halo 3, Gears of War, (GoW2 coming soon!) and BioShock. (And yes, I know they're making a PS3 version, but still, I wanted it when it came out, and upon its release, it was a 360 exclusive.

No, I not a fanboy, but at the time of that post I wasn't thinking about LittleBigPlanet and I hadn't seen the footage of Restance 2. I like my PS3 and Restance is one of my favorite games. I'm also looking forward to Infamous, and we all can see the coming Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter sequels. Currently, I play my 360 the most because my friends play alot of Halo 3, COD 4, and GTA 4. I also play No More Heroes on the Wii.

Gears 2 will be fantastic, but i think with all the hype and the gameplay videos, we've seen everything new in the game already, once we get the game, the only surprise will be the storyline, which the official xbox magazine has already stated gives more questions than answers. Thanks OXM.

The graphics and storyline are not all that, but the fact that it's different almost every time you play it gives it amazing replayability value, also it's just good, hard zombie killing fun ^_^

Also, the difficulty levels are exactly what they say they are... expert is challenging enough to warrant being called expert.

You post has made me figure it out, specifically, "It's just a good team game". The problem I have isn't the game, it's who I play it with. I always get matched up with retarded people who think it's HILARIOUS to friendly-fire and then kill themselves endlessly. I like the game, I just hate the players. I've only met a handful that enjoy playing the game.

Eh, I was introduced to it by my colleague at work, and he plays it with his friends who play it seriously (well, they play it properly - you get what I mean)... and since then I've been playing Left4Dead with those 3... I ended up making up the 4th player that they had been missing XD

I have tried playing it through online with randomers, but they suck and ruin the game... the only time I actually enjoy playing it with randomers is on Versus Mode... that can be interesting, unless a n00b player spawns in and starts killing his teammates.

Heh, one strange story from the world of randomers in versus mode - I was carrying the team at this point, and some new guy comes in, sees my Gamertag, and instantly tries a few times to start a vote to kick me. So, in return, the other randomers who had actually seen how I played, declined his vote, then kicked him!

If you're going for singleplayer games I'm guessing you'll want something you can play alot. Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 might be the way you want to go. It's interesting to replay the game and see how different decisions effect the outcome. I would'nt however attempt any of the rediculous playthrough achievements some of them are glitched and tend to be more hastle than its worth. There's also games like Fallout 3 that have ALOT of game hours. Be warned though Fallout fever will get you, and you'll have to no-life it until it runs its course >_<
