Now, onto the recommendation to "fix" the ghost role since people were complaining about it. Any suggestions?

That's not a bad idea, but there is a certain degree of luck involved with that. It certainly is more fair, but there is less strategy involved in a random possession rather than giving everyone one possession each.

I am personally in favor of letting possession occur every turn, but limiting it to one possession per game.

Alright then.... possession will NOT include who's being possessed until the ghost is selected to activate their power. The GM can include who got chosen in the Turn Results. How's that? That way the ghost does have the whole turn to choose who to possess and use such and such abilities with them.

If we're doing it at random then let's make it every turn because then it'll be more reasonably possible to get possession. And this makes it more crucial to be ready to go on defense or offense on both sides depending on who's chosen. Because of the chance, it can't be abused repeatedly by one side.

Unfortunately, I don't see a roulette on the possession being fair. It would take a lot of the strategy out of the game, and doesn't take into account the people who die during the previous turn.

Only if the GM is LAZY and doesn't wait until the turn end to select the ghost while including the people who they know will die that turn. Not that hard really.

I'm all for DarkArcher's possession reccomendation. Half of what I hear complaint-wise about this game is townies who are unable to possess due to different time zone/simply not being online. If we limit it to once per round per person, it allows a greater number of people to possess and makes it much more even gameplay as far as people teaming for kira/L to use their possession for their side.

Under my recommendation, it would still be the person who was first to possess, unfortunately. There's not really any way to get around that without killing the strategy aspect of it.

However, like Eia pointed out, the purpose of both mine and HS's recommendations would be to allow more people total to possess, allowing for greater chances of people in different time zones to get a possibly critical late-game possession.

All I can say is that I really don't care much to have possession for a turn randomly assigned. In the end, you guys may force my hand, but I'd much prefer if you could come up with something else.

although I didn't make it in time to sign up, I like this idea but how about, depending on the number of people dead also depends on the number of dice you have, each person dead choses a number but they PM the GM what their number is, everybody picks one, if somebody choses the same number another person uses, the first person to choose that number keeps it while the GM PM's the second person to choose another number. Once everybody chooses a number, the GM will roll a dice and the number the dice lands on, the person who chose that number gets to posses for that turn.

Also, the number that the ghost have to chose is within a certain range.
Ex: If there are three people dead, they have to choose a number between one through six, one dice should be used on six people. And if there are eight ghost, then they have to choose a number between one to twelve, meaning two dices will be used.

Plus, if two or more dices are used, the GM could decide whether to add up the numbers that appear on the dice or choose either of the numbers that appears on the dice.
